As Catholics & Christians, the Risen Christ community seeks to become more like Christ. The school believes the purpose of a discipline program is to form self-disciplined individuals with mature attitudes & socially acceptable standards of conduct that reflect love of self & love of neighbor. Discipline is therefore not to be confused with punishment. Risen Christ maintains that students thrive when they learn in safe, joyful, & engaging classrooms where they can develop strong social & academic skills. Teachers provide this environment through training in Responsive Classroom practices, which focus on helping students build academic, social, & emotional skills in settings that are developmentally responsive to their strengths & needs.
