About Us

Escuela Bilingüe Green Central is a Magnet Dual Language program in MPS. It is located in the heart of the Central neighborhood. This is an 80/20 (Spanish/English) program in Kindergarten, which becomes 50/50 by Grade 3. It is a content-based language development program, with a goal of bilingual & biliteracy by Grade 5.
All students learn to read, write, & speak in both languages. Students are encouraged to continue in the Spanish Dual Language pathway at Andersen United Community School & Roosevelt.

Green Central provides afterschool activities on Mondays through Thursdays.

Special education programming

Green Central offers special education programming including city-wide & site-based supports. A dedicated staff provides all services for their students.

Curricula

Green Central uses Bridges for its math curriculum, Benchmark for Language Arts in English, & Benchmark Adelante for Language Arts in Spanish. This mirrors the district’s curricula.

English language learner programming

Green Central has an amazing English Learner (EL) department with support for more than 300 students. EL teachers utilize a co-teaching model, where a classroom teacher & an English Language Development practitioner work together to build a rich language environment for all students.

At Green Central, students are encouraged to socialize & play with friends in a safe environment. Students build relationships with peers, as well as with adults, who supervise all activities in the playground & the soccer field.
