Academic programming

At Cristo Rey, students have the opportunity to engage in rigorous, relevant learning through our college preparatory program. All classes implement a standards based grading model, supporting all students to high levels of academic success in their four years here. Beginning in 10th grade, students have the opportunity to take AP courses, which are offered in the disciplines of math, social studies, English, science, computer science, Spanish. Each year, students participate in a corporate work study internship; they gain valuable on the job skills in communication, technology, & problem solving & earn an academic credit for participating in the program.

Special education programming

Integrated supports are available for all students to achieve academic success.

English language learner programming

Cristo Rey classes are all conducted in English, including direct instruction, readings, & assignments. Our Spanish classes in 10th/11th grade are the courses conducted in Spanish.

Covid recovery plan

Cristo Rey is prioritizing academic time for students to meet with teachers & find additional support within the building. Students have access to teachers & tutors during office hours, as well as tutors outside the school building. Cristo Rey shifted to a block schedule that allows students more in-person time with teachers, minimizing transitions between classes.
