Academic programming
Agamim’s classical approach to teaching is based on ancient Western & Eastern ideas that focus on educating a child’s mind & heart to help them grow as a person, serve others, & help advance their nation. Agamim puts together this classical approach with seven academic subjects designed to challenge students, build their intelligence, & create a free-thinking & empathetic person. Students also study classical languages, like Latin, Greek, & Hebrew, as these languages come from the three ancient civilizations that helped shape the philosophy, government, education, & morals of the United States. At Agamim, teachers take these classical ideas & bring them to life in a culture of warmth, love, wholesomeness, & excellence for every student, staff member, & family. The school believes that a classical education is a gift to use on behalf of themselves & others wherever they may go.
Academic Programs Offered:
Advanced Instruction, Language Immersion, Multi-Grade Classrooms, Personalized Learning
Special education programming
Special education at Agamim works to ensure that each student learns—intellectually & morally—at the highest level. They prioritize an inclusive learning environment in which students are with their homeroom classmates & teachers as much as possible. This approach makes sure that all teachers in the special & general education spaces know each of their students well as learners, & as growing young people with skills, passions, knowledge, insight, & agency. Inclusion in a classical education program improves the work of all special services programming, as classical education is challenging, important, & inspiring by design.
Agamim helps all students succeed in different models—full inclusion in the homeroom with supports, co-teaching in the homeroom setting, partial day pull-out services, one-on-one & room-based supports, & more. Agamim teachers work together closely to make sure their special education programming is truly specialized, personalized, culturally responsive, & dedicated to advancement for all.
Curricula
Agamim utilizes Groves Foundations K-3 & Amplify’s Core Knowledge Language Arts curricula for reading. They use Eureka Math Squared for mathematics.

School values
For Agamim, building character is equally important as a student’s learning in the classroom. Each day, students study the five classical virtues of fortitude, gratitude, joyfulness, temperance, & wisdom. The school believes that with practice, these virtues can become habits.
At Agamim, teachers & parents encourage students to achieve excellence. Agamim students learn the tools they will use for the rest of their lives to help them seek truth, beauty, & goodness when entering new situations & learning new things. The strength of the classical approach is that it gives students & teachers a simple & thorough process for lifelong learning & deep self-assessment. Classically-trained thinkers have strong minds & strong hearts. They are ready for leadership, scholarship, & citizenship.
Agamim is proud to work with families to help students grow as students & as people, teaching America’s founding values of E Pluribus Unum–from the many, one.
Recess
Agamim has two recesses daily for students in grades K-5 & one recess per day for students in grades 6-8. Classical schools are academically rigorous, & recess is a much-needed time for the brain to rest & for students to pursue friendships, sports, & hobbies together. The “Buddy Bench” is used every recess by students looking for others to play with them, & staff work together to engage all students in activities. Playground areas are designed to be accessible to all, & grades strategically overlap during recesses, so students in their small school have an expanded network of peers in neighboring grades. Safety, both inside & outside the building, is crucial. Recess monitors wear visibility vests & always carry an emergency bag with communication devices, ensuring that messages flow quickly between monitors & the office. Agamim’s entire staff team is trained in first aid & in the school’s Standard Response Protocol.
Discipline Policy
At Agamim, truth, beauty, goodness, & meaningful connection—in combination—are the standard for how students work & interact with each other. These standards of excellence grow incredible fruit when followed: safety, love, learning, wholesomeness, conscientiousness, & lasting friendship. Discipline is at the core of classical learning. Students cannot grow their hearts & minds without the habit of self-discipline, nor without the discipline of a caring & wise mentor who sees a better future for them. Agamim has a classical vision of excellence along with an educational discipline policy to assist scholars when they make mistakes in judgment, kindness, or wisdom. The school must hold this standard with support from scholars & families to keep the fruits of excellence growing & available for each person in the school.
