Recess

Risen Christ provides regular opportunities for physical activity, including physical education classes & daily recess, to support students’ physical & mental health.

Discipline Policy

As Catholics & Christians, the Risen Christ community seeks to become more like Christ. The school believes the purpose of a discipline program is to form self-disciplined individuals with mature attitudes & socially acceptable standards of conduct that reflect love of self & love of neighbor. Discipline is therefore not to be confused with punishment. Risen Christ maintains that students thrive when they learn in safe, joyful, & engaging classrooms where they can develop strong social & academic skills. Teachers provide this environment through training in Responsive Classroom practices, which focus on helping students build academic, social, & emotional skills in settings that are developmentally responsive to their strengths & needs. Responsive Classroom is an evidence-based approach to teaching & discipline that fosters engaging academics, a positive community, effective management, & developmental awareness, supporting the growth of the whole child.

Bullying Prevention Policy

Risen Christ Catholic School strives to maintain a safe & welcoming environment for every student in its community. Bullying behavior negatively affects the community & its members, & is therefore unacceptable. The school expressly prohibits bullying by any individual or group of students, whether on school property or at school-related functions. Cyberbullying is also strictly prohibited, regardless of whether it occurs on or off school property or involves the use of school resources. These prohibitions apply not only to students who directly engage in bullying but also to those who, through indirect behavior, condone or support another student’s act of bullying. By upholding these standards, Risen Christ fosters a culture of respect, dignity, & accountability, ensuring that all students can learn & grow in a safe, supportive, & positive environment.
