School values

Risen Christ partners with parents to provide a rigorous, high-quality Catholic education that honors each child’s faith, language & culture. Teachers & staff recognize & accept this special responsibility to partner with students & parents in a sacred trust to help children grow in faith & knowledge.

Discipline Policy

As Catholics & as Christians, it is the school community’s desire to become more like Christ. They believe that the purpose of a discipline program is to develop self-disciplined individuals with mature attitudes & socially acceptable standards of conduct, which reflect love of self & love of neighbor. Discipline, therefore, should not be confused with punishment. The school believes that students thrive when they are learning in safe, joyful, & engaging classrooms where they develop strong social & academic skills. The school’s teachers have learned to provide this environment through training in Responsive Classroom practices with an emphasis on helping students develop their academic, social, & emotional skills in a learning environment that is developmentally responsive to their strengths & needs. Responsive Classroom is an evidence-based approach to teaching & discipline that focuses on engaging academics, positive community, effective management, & developmental awareness.

Bullying Prevention Policy

Risen Christ Catholic School aims to maintain a safe & welcoming environment for every student in their community. Bullying behavior negatively affects the community & each member in it, & is therefore unacceptable. Risen Christ expressly prohibits bullying, by either an individual student or a group of students, on school property, or at school-related functions. Risen Christ also expressly prohibits cyberbullying, regardless of whether such acts are committed on or off school property, or with or without the use of school resources. These prohibitions apply to students who directly engage in an act of bullying & to students who, by their indirect behavior, condone or support another student’s act of bullying.
