Whittier Community is a community school has a strong International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Offers arts integration & MacPhail Center for the Arts partnership, advanced instruction, & Spanish langauge instruction for K-5.

Minneapolis Public Schools is focused on the implementation of the MPS Strategic Plan as adopted by the school board. Within the Strategic Plan, MPS is providing optional academic boosts for students who need additional support. The academic boosts are implemented in many different ways including additional staffing, intervention programs and tutoring. As we continue to explore innovative ways to address learning and opportunity gaps as a result of interrupted learning over the past few years, we will be prioritizing academic boosts that are student-centered and site based.
