Academic programming

At Saint Helena, we have an academic program which is standards-based & modified to meet students’ needs. Our literacy program is a combination of Believe & Read, which is based on the Science of Reading, & My View/Perspectives textbooks. Elementary students receive a total of 120 minutes of literacy instruction a day in addition to 45 minute math instruction. Students also receive regular religion instruction, including preparation for the sacraments. Our middle school science program uses Amplify Science, which uses extensive hand-on activities. We have regular science & music classes & P.E. three times a week.

Special education programming

Provides special education services in partnership with the local public school district. Call for additional information.

English language learner programming

Teachers work with students to modify instruction as needed. Small class sizes allow us to provide differentiated instruction for our EILL learners. Many of our staff are bilingual in English & Spanish.

Covid recovery plan

Our small class sizes allow us to individualize instruction based on student needs. We use the results of Aimsweb & NWEA Map to monitor instruction as needed. For those that qualify, Title 1 classes are offered four days a week before school taught by our own teachers to provide continuity of instruction.
