Academic programming

Instruction at Partnership Academy is driven by collaboration with attention to the state standards & culturally relevant practices. Reading, writing, phonics, & math involve mini lessons to model new content, followed by ample practice & feedback opportunities in small groups & individually. To provide a well-rounded education, students also partake in specialist classes in Physical Education, Art, Music, & Spanish, plus classroom lessons in social & emotional skills, science, environmental stewardship, & social studies. Partnership Academy has many educators co-planning & co-teaching together daily to meet the needs of their students.

Special education programming

Partnership Academy’s Special Education program is constantly praised for its culturally-informed, thoughtful, & personalized approach to help all students succeed in the least restrictive environment.Their Special Education program maintains an underlying emphasis on building skills, knowing each child & family, & increasing students’ independence. In the 2021-2022 school year, Partnership Academy employed 2 special education lead teachers, 1 special education lead associate educator, 1 early childhood education teacher, 7 special education teachers, 2 full-time speech/language pathologists, 1 full-time special education social worker, and 20 special education associate educators. They also consult with a special education director, special education coordinator, occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, vision teacher, & developmental adapted physical education teacher to ensure the highest quality of care for students.

English language learner programming

The Emergent Bilingual (EB) program serves to support & enhance accessibility to English content while also creating spaces for students to use, build identity in & further develop their home languages in a school context. Emergent Bilingual educators & all educators work collaboratively on grade-level teams to implement best practice for Emergent Bilingual students through use of native language & English supports in every lesson, & research-based best practices to support English Learners. They believe all teachers are EB teachers & must ensure they are supporting the language needs of their students.
