About

About Us

Minnesota Internship Center intentionally serves students who have not found success in other educational settings. The school offers a unique educational program that includes work-based learning & internship opportunities as well as highly personalized classroom instruction. MNIC empowers students to overcome barriers to academic success by providing in-school services in the areas of health advocacy, finding housing, career counseling, crisis intervention, food shelves, & many others. Students enrolling at MNIC have, on average, attended at least three different high schools & are at least one year behind grade-level in their progress towards graduation. As a result, the four-year graduation rate on this page is not a good measure of the effectiveness of the school’s academic program. MNIC prides itself on turning dropouts into graduates by recruiting & welcoming students that have been cast aside by society. The school’s students have been rejected from other schools because of barriers & circumstances such as gang affiliation, single parenthood, criminal convictions, drug & alcohol abuse, poverty, & homelessness. The school will continue to intentionally recruit & serve this group of students.
