About

About Us

Located in Minneapolis’s vibrant Near North neighborhood, Hmong International Academy (HIA) is a diverse Pre-K through grade 5 school. HIA prepares students for success in the 21st century while preserving & sharing Hmong language & culture, & honoring all cultures. In addition to being like any other Minneapolis Public Schools elementary school, HIA hosts a one-way dual language program where native speaking students are encouraged to continue the Hmong language & culture program at Olson Middle School & then Henry High School. In Fall 2021, HIA began redefining its path for the years ahead. HIA students, families & members of the community are involved in that process.
