Heritage STEM Academy’s commitment is to prepare students for success in science, technology, engineering, & mathematics (STEM). Their vision is to create leaders with a sense of discovery to tackle real-life problems collaboratively in a global society. The school celebrates Somali culture & creative thinking. They work to embody a learning environment where everyone feels safe, supported, & able to do well socially, emotionally, & academically.
In the 2020-21 school year, Heritage STEM Academy transformed to focus on a STEM education. Their teaching includes deliberate STEM integration into core subjects & STEM electives. Students have opportunities to become STEM literate, think critically, & become leaders with a sense of discovery. Academic success at Heritage is a result of their teachers’ abilities to create personalized learning opportunities for students, so that they can progress at their own unique pace.
