Franklin STEAM Magnet Middle School offers specialized learning for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics), featuring experienced & enthusiastic faculty, as well as up-to-date educational technology.

Extra programming
Enrichment & recreation: Beacons programs offer a variety of hands-on, structured activities that allow for “voice & choice,” where students can select & shape their own projects. These can include creative arts, physical fitness, cultural activities, & general enrichment programs led by staff.
Social & emotional development: A core component of the program is helping young people develop social & life skills. This is achieved through conflict resolution training, leadership development, & fostering positive relationships with peers & adults.
Community & family engagement: Beacons centers function as community hubs, providing services & activities for parents & other adults in addition to students. They host intergenerational events to bring families together & offer workshops on topics like naturalization & improving communication.
Health & wellness: Activities address critical issues like substance abuse prevention through public education, & some programs incorporate mindfulness & mental well-being practices
