Cyber Village Academy emphasizes developing the whole child.
With that in mind, CVA offers many extracurricular activities throughout the year. Most clubs & activities are driven by student interest, but some may be staff hobbies & interests. Cyber Village Academy is a member of the Minnesota State High School League, & is proud to be able to offer One Act Play. Some clubs offered are: chess club, Lego Robotics, Art club, Gaming, Magic, Yearbook, Theater, & Maple Syrup club.

Academic programming

CVA’s Fusion program is a hybrid of their on campus & on-line program. The curriculum emphasizes high standards, thinking skills, research strategies, & the examination of multiple perspectives. In addition to all the core subjects, elementary students get physical education & specialist classes (Art, Music, & Technology) every day through Grade 5. Students in Grades 6-8 take classes in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, & a rotation of physical education, technology, art, & music. Spanish is an option for students in 7-12 grade. In addition, high school students have elective choices, such as Mechanical Engineering, Societies in Science Fiction, or Literature in Film.

Special education programming

CVA has a full Special Education department & staff available to support students & families. They offer a robust program that is highly inclusive for all students. Neurodiverse students are naturally part of the students they serve & are welcome fully into their programs. 

English language learner programming

CVA has dedicated staff available to support their English language learners. The school has a full time staff member dedicated to ELL students & reading strategies. Through the use of a variety of assessments, 1:1 work, & small group instruction, their staff work in partnership with families to support English language learners. The school’s small class sizes allow for individualized support & modification to help students find success.

Discipline Policy

CVA practices Restorative Justice. They believe that everyone has a place, & they do their best to keep students in the classroom & in the school building. If someone is having a tough time throughout the day, there are staff & spaces available to help students reset. Community safety is essential, but non-exclusionary discipline, learning, & safety are the school’s goals. 

Bullying Prevention Policy

Bullying & disrespect are not tolerated at CVA. The school upholds the principle that students & staff deserve to be treated with respect. In the event there are issues, staff take the issues seriously & work through the school’s discipline policy & bullying policy immediately. As part of this process, the school works with students & their families to ensure safety through a fact finding & restorative justice approach.
