North High School in North Minneapolis is a comprehensive high school serving students in grades 9-12. North High prepares students to thrive in a global, competitive marketplace. The school forges partnerships with families, businesses, community members, & organizations to realize the school’s vision. North High offers rigorous instruction & small class sizes. Staff equip students to succeed in college & in the workforce.

North High School’s Academic Programming is framed around State standards, graduation criteria, & a model that holds three pillars, referred to as “Majors,” that students can design their schedule around & graduate with extensive preparation & knowledge in. The three majors are: Arts & Communication, Social Justice, & STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math).

North High School is structured to provide support to students with special education needs that vary from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) ranging from settings one to three. North High staff is specialized to support students with specific learning disabilities, autism, emotional & behavioral, & development &/or cognitive delays.

North High uses the MPS Behavior Standards to uphold a school climate that is safe & respectful for students, staff, & visitors. Members of their community failing to uphold that standard are identified immediately for intervention & redirection.
