Lifelong Learning: Every person is a lifelong learner. Our minds & hearts are designed to grow, explore, & expand in knowledge & ability. At Aim Academy, learning is an adventure—where mistakes are not failures but opportunities to grow stronger & wiser.
Every Person Has Value: Each individual brings unique experiences, insights, & perspectives that enrich the community. The school cultivates respect by valuing every voice, clarifying expectations, & creating space for students to share their strengths.
Celebrating Differences: Diversity is not just welcomed, it is celebrated. Aim recognizes that different cultures, backgrounds, & lived experiences are assets that make them stronger together. Their collective growth is fueled by honoring & learning from these differences.
Shared Responsibility for Learning: They are a community of learners who hold one another accountable for success. Students & staff alike support each other in reaching their highest potential, ensuring no one is left behind.
Honoring One Another: Differences empower greatness. By respecting, uplifting, & learning from one another, they gain new energy, deepen their understanding of themselves & others, & build a vibrant school community where everyone thrives.

Recess

At AAST, physical education (PE) classes in the gym are a safe, welcoming, & purposeful time for every student. Our staff actively supervise all areas to ensure student safety & positive interactions. Clear expectations rooted in our ARCTIC values guide how students treat one another, helping to prevent bullying & promote kindness.
AAST provide structured activities & open play options so students can engage in ways that fit their interests, build friendships, & develop social-emotional skills. Recess is also a time for inclusion, where students of all backgrounds & abilities are encouraged to participate fully. By balancing freedom of play with thoughtful guidance, PE classes become more than a class; it is a meaningful opportunity for students to recharge, connect, & strengthen the sense of community that defines our school.

Discipline Policy

AAST’s discipline policy is built on respect, responsibility, & safety. Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly & dignified manner in their words, actions, & appearance. Their policy outlines clear expectations & progressive levels of intervention to guide behavior. Level I (Disorderly Conduct) addresses minor disruptions such as tardiness, cheating, or inappropriate language with interventions like verbal warnings, family communication, or withdrawal of privileges. Level II (Disruptive Conduct) covers more serious behaviors, including fighting, threats, or misuse of technology, with consequences such as suspension, referral to outside agencies, or restitution. Level III (Unlawful Conduct) involves the most serious offenses—such as weapons, drugs, or violent threats—which require immediate removal, law enforcement notification, & may result in expulsion. Discipline decisions honor student & family rights under state law, & are intended to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment while promoting accountability & growth.

Bullying Prevention Policy

AAST is committed to providing a safe, respectful, & equitable learning environment free from bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind. Bullying, including physical, verbal, social, or cyberbullying, is strictly prohibited on school property, during school activities, & through electronic means that disrupt learning. Their policy defines bullying as repeated or harmful conduct that creates a power imbalance or substantially interferes with a student’s ability to learn & participate in school life. Students, staff, contractors, & volunteers are required to report incidents, & all reports are investigated promptly, fairly, & confidentially. Retaliation & false accusations are also prohibited. Responses include age-appropriate interventions, restorative practices, & disciplinary actions, alongside supports for targeted students. AAST also provides staff training & student education to build skills for prevention, intervention, & creating a culture of respect. Annual notice of this policy is shared with students, families, & staff.
