The curriculum includes core subjects such as English, mathematics, science, & social studies, along with a variety of electives in the arts, technology, & physical education. AFA emphasizes personalized learning, providing personalized instruction & support, through small class sizes & trauma-informed teachers. AFA is committed to building students’ critical thinking, creativity, & lifelong learning skills to prepare them for their careers in college & beyond. AFA is dedicated to supporting students through its comprehensive Special Education programming. The school offers individualized education plans (IEPs) designed to meet each student’s unique requirements, ensuring access to a high-quality education. AFA’s experienced special education staff provides specialized instruction, accommodations, & modifications within inclusive, co-taught classroom settings. Collaboration with general education teachers ensures that students receive the support they need across all classes. The program also includes speech & language therapy, occupational therapy, & counseling services to address various developmental & emotional needs. AFAs English Language Development (ELD) program supports multilingual learners in developing English proficiency through culturally responsive, trauma-informed instruction. The program includes leveled language support based on WIDA standards & integrates academic content with language development using sheltered instruction strategies. Students engage in reading, writing, speaking, & listening activities that reflect their identities & their lived experiences. Small class sizes, collaborative learning, & ongoing assessment ensure personalized support, while strong family engagement & staff training help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Augsburg Fairview Academy’s discipline policy emphasizes respect, responsibility, & safety, building a positive & productive learning environment. They set high expectations for student behavior, making sure that rules are clear, consistent, & fairly enforced. Consequences for breaking the rules are designed to be teaching moments rather than punishments, promoting personal growth & accountability. Minor offenses are addressed with verbal warnings & restorative practices, while repeated or severe violations result in more structured interventions, such as parent conferences, or formal disciplinary action. Their policy also includes a support system for students to address issues affecting their behavior, involving counselors & support staff.
